Double embossing technique

Welcome once again this week to The Cuttlebug Spot. This week we are very excited to introduce a new sponsor. Simon Says Stamp.  They will be giving our winner this week a $50.00 gift certificate to shop at their store. Thank you Simon Says Stamp for your generosity. Please show them your support by visiting their store.  I'm amazed at the selection of stamps they have. Surely there is something for everyone. I'm partial to the Magnolia selection :)

This week we are revisiting a technique that was posted a while back called double embossing. It's not embossing with 2 folders but embossing with one folder and nestabilities all on one project.  I  had always wanted to leave a smooth space in the middle of my embossing folders but didnt like that the smooth space looked plain so I played around with many different combinations of  "sandwiches" in my cuttlebug until I discovered the perfect one that would allow me to emboss the surrounding area of a nestabilites and also emboss the nestabilitie's shape.

This technique can be seen on this video . We hope that you find time to try the technique for your next project and share that with us.  Enjoy our creations this week.

Don't forget to leave us a comment as your entry to win this week's gift certificate from Simon Says Stamp.
Winner will be announced Monday's March 1st post. Deadline for entries is Saturday February 27th 9:00 pm (pst).

You've Got Mail : altered mail boxes

I'm so excited with this week's challenge. The design team did an amazing job altering mail boxes. As you can see some are not the common Target tin ones that are sold for $1.00. You can make your own mail box out of paper, or if you own the new Love Struck cartridge for Cricut, you will find a mail box cut on it.

I hope you enjoy our altered boxes and please visit the Design Team blogs by clicking on their projects below to find additional pictures and information about their mail boxes. We would love to see your creations this week.

If you have an altered mail box please give us a link to your creation. We will chose the best project and award £15.00 gift certificate to The Craft Barn. Good luck
