Spellbinder Presto Punch : 2010 CHA
New at CHA this year from Spellbinders is the Presto Punch.. take a look .. tell me what you think. I think it's a great tool for those that want to get rid of some punches and make the transition to dies that cut and emboss like Spellbinders. I dont like that it takes so many batteries. The AC adapter would be a must and is going to be sold separately. The machine will retail for $69.99, a little too steep for me. I would love for you to comment and tell me what you think and would you buy it ?
Thank you Mary for the wonderful demo and for the flower you made me.

The machine is way too expensive. I personally don't mind using punches and stuff. I wonder if these will work with the regular spellbinders machines and stuff too.
ReplyDeleteHi - don't think I would buy this as the small size is quite limiting. I have a Cuttlebug, which I love, and use Nestabilities in it too, which makes it very versatile, cutting small and large shapes, apertures, alphabets, embossing, etc. I also think the Presto is expensive for a machine which can only cut and emboss small shapes. (And if I was going to be really picky - it seems very noisy too)!!

Thank you for posting this, made up my mind, i won,t be buying it, Its cute but small and very noisey
ReplyDeleteUGH!! That noise alone is reason enough not to buy this!!! Horrible!!! haha Too small!! If you have a Cricut and Cuttlebug, I don't see this as a must-have tool, but thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Thanks for showing us this Nilda! It is interesting....not sure yet... Because our punches do take up too much room. Nice thing is that these emboss too. Spellbinders does make nice designs for their dies. It does seem that it should come with the AC adapter cord for that price.
ReplyDeletesounds like a pencil sharpener to me...thanks for posting this, I'll keep my punches... the dies sound a bit pricey also.
ReplyDeleteNah, I think that's one I can live without. It's too expensive and too limiting, being able to only use their tiny dies.
ReplyDeleteI was very intrigued when I first heard of this, and I am sooo glad you shared the video. Now I know this is not for me, to little (aka not versatile) and noisy. Not to mention pricey for what it is and does. Thank you so much for sharing the video!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, but I won't be buying, this is not inventive enough for me. I can do this on my cuttlebug.
ReplyDeleteI think it's cool, but I doubt I'd buy it mostly because of all the QK dies I already have and I don't mind punching them out. By the time you put your die into the folder to cut it you could have had a couple of QK cut by now. I do think this would be great for woman who have issues with Arthritis etc.
ReplyDeleteWayyy to pricey and really small. This is something I don't see myself buying...
ReplyDeleteWay too pricey and noisy too.
ReplyDeleteI guess these little dies would also cut and emboss in the same way as other spellbnders dies, so if you have a Cuttlebug you can use the new dies in that anyway.
Thanks for posting this, I was interested to hear all about it - but it's definately not for me (my hubby is now sighing with relief LOL!!!!)

No way! I have a Cricut (took me 3 years to get that!) and a few spellbinders products, but this wouldn't fit the budget. I think manufacturers of this kind of products need to remember most people who use their products don't have bottomless purses!
ReplyDeleteNot for me either. Too expensive, and looks like I would be wasiting money buying extra dies for cutting. To noisy for me. I have a big shot and my circut, for cutting and embossing. Cuttle bug folder and other spellbinder dies that are working just fine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this though.
Linda
No way. First off its super expensive and you don't always just want to cut out on a small piece of paper...won't work for me!
ReplyDeleteCute but I won't be buying it either. Too expensive for what it does.
ReplyDeleteTHanks for showing this - I won't be getting it - it seemed like it actually took longer than just running something through the cuttlebug, and the price is not very appealing, or the noise, or the batteries.
ReplyDeleteI feel it's too expensive as well! I don't even have very many small punches. I like to spend my money on border punches.
ReplyDeleteAnd, it's noisey!
Cute, but not good. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI'll pass..too noisy and too pricey for me!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else. It's too noisy, too expensive, and very limited in what it can do. I'll keep my punches and Cuttlebug! :)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't buy it. I already have a Cuttlebug and a Big Shot as well as the Cricut. I also have a collection of edgers and punches but even if I didn't have all that, I wouldn't buy it. I think it's too small and too expensive compared to machines which do more and sell for about the same price. I have a feeling these aren't going to sell the way they think they might.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest concern on this machine is the noise. For those of us who "create" when everyone has gone to bed in the house, might not want to turn this thing on!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo thanks.....this is to expensive and noisy.... and very limited on what you can do......thank you for showing us this........
ReplyDeleteNO I don't think I would purchase...it is too $$$ and I think at that price it should include the AC adapter and I still would be iffy. A punch is much faster and no noise. JMHO Paula
ReplyDeleteNo, I would definitely NEVER buy this - the noise is the first thing that would put me off. It is extremely small and you need batteries... So no reason to put my wonderful cuttlebug aside!
ReplyDeleteNo I would not buy this! I think it makes too much noice and with the Cricut, Cuttlebug, and Big Shot I do not need another die cutter! I can cut any shape with the Cricut especially since I have the Gypsy!
ReplyDeleteI saw this on the Spellbinder website and thought it looked interesting. Glad you shared the video. Definitely wouldn't buy it. Why? When I have a cuttlebug that can already do the same thing? Just cut more of them at the same time. I do that already! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI thought it looked intersting until the video. Too noisy and too pricy. I mostly have border punches because I can't justify the expense on punches if I can cut the same thing on my cricut all the way down to 1/4". I know the point of punches is to be quicker, but by the time that thing is done I could have something cut out on my cricut anyway. I did like the embossing factor, but I would rather see try to use those dies in my cuttlebug and get the same results. If it was cheaper, maybe, but not at that price.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU so much for the demo. That has helped me to realize this tool needs some changes. The irritating noise, being battery operated or the extra cost of the adapter, and the limiting size of the punches do not justify the need. My Cuttlebug works so much better! Hopefully these open comments will help for future designs in this area of punches.

I saw this demoed too. I'm a HUGE fan of all things Spellbinders, but this looks like a step backwards to me. Too expensive and limiting!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't buy it, even if I could afford it. It is to expensive, to noisy, to limited on what you can do with it! I will stick with my Cuttlebug, happily! Thank you for sharing this. I was curious about it and now I know!
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for the demo. I will not be buying this. It's too small for my purposes. The Cuttlebug has so many more possibilities than this machine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the video. While it looks like a neat idea, it is really only good for smaller cuts, and I find it too expensive to justify the purchase for something that would have such limitations. It is also way too noisy for me.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Thanks for the video, Nilda. I'm pretty sure I won't be buying this. It's too noisy and way too slow. The die are quite small. It seems to me that this is something I would have expected to see a few years ago. With all of the technology these days, I would expect so much more from it, especially at that price.
ReplyDeleteDo you think those die will work in the Cuttlebug?
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the video. First off I must say I am a girl that loves her gadgets. I think this is one I can pass on. The noise is awful and it seems to take longer than just placing a piece of paper in a punch. I do like the dies, if they will work in my cuttlebug I believe they have found a new home.
ReplyDeleteMarla
Not for me either, not versatile enough...
ReplyDelete~L~
I too love Spellbinder products, but this is not a must have.....way too pricey for now.
ReplyDeleteNeat little gadget...but I think I'll stick with my cuttlebug. The price is a little steep and I am not sure it sounds sturdy...reminds me of a toy sewing machine. I love Spellbinders...but this is not one I want. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else here. Too pricey, to limited and way to loud. Love my cuttlebug
ReplyDeleteMarilyn C.
I agree with the most of the comments on here; not worth the price. I agree with the poster that said it was good for people with disabilities(I think that is the only pro).
ReplyDeletewhy not just use their dies in our Cuttlebug machine. (?) That makes too much noise - we got away from pounding our eyelets to using the Crop-A-Dile...
ReplyDeleteI agree with most...too expensive for the product, too noisy too, I can only scrap when I little one is sleeping, this would wake him up...I will stick to my cuttlebug and punches!! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good idea in theory, but oh my goodness the machine makes too much noise! Wow. Thanks for sharing with us!!
